Good job by Freddy to get to 1st so quickly... with plenty of time to spare.

Marquis walks the two batters in front of you, so you swing at the first pitch?! Ugh.

Yeah.  Manny sucks :???:

This isn't little league.  McLouth walked on 8 pitches, even though Pearce was on 4 it's not like Marquis was all over the place and couldn't throw a strike.

I'm definitely not saying that Manny.sucks..but it seems to me that he's been swinging at a lot of first pitches when the batter in front of him gets on base.

And you're sure that's a bad thing?

Whatever... you hate him, admit it. You wanted us to draft a pitcher that year.

Let's go tie this thing up.  Marquis doesn't seem too sharp so far.

What was up with Marquis hop there after the 1st strike to Jones? Looks like he was headed over to Canton or something.

One-pitch outs are certainly frustrating, and elating for a pitcher.  But it's not necessarily a bad thing to be aggressive and swing at the first pitch.  Manny's been raking on first pitches this year, 7/20 with 2 2B and a HR.

I looked it up and went for the setup, too.  He deftly avoided walking into the trap, but I spent the time looking up the numbers so I had to at least post them!

Good call having McFarland start to warm... our BP can afford the work haul today with the 2 off days this week.

He's certainly not worthy of any trust.  I just hope he can be a 4.50ish ERA guy for a month or so until we get Chen back.  Same with Jurjjens.

The surprising thing is that it wasn't a badly placed pitch... though a poor "stuff" pitch nevertheless. I was surprised he was able muscle that one out of the park.

Wow, I didn't realize he had already thrown 75 pitches.
