I didn't see most of the game, but having him pitch three days in a row including two innings most of the game is a bit much. I wonder if Matusz would've been a better option, that it really matters now and we'll never really know.
I was surprised he came out for the 2nd inning, but he only pitched to one batter in his first inning, so it wasn't that much more work. And he got the first two guys no problem and the next two weren't exactly hard hit singles. Then he completely lost it.
