Just kidding (sort of) but it's kind of a low risk - low reward move for me.

Well, technically the Orioles are sending him to their own pitchers' park in Norfolk. The Padres didn't think he would be able to succeed in their cavernous ballpark, so let's bring him to Camden Yards and see what he can do.

Moves like this make me think, what's it hurt? You could do a lot worse than Freddy Garcia making a spot start and a lot of teams will prove that, probably in April. Another not flashy move by DD, but not a bad one.
I stand by this. Still nothing fancy, but you could do worse.

After today's effort getting behind the Jays 6-0, I have had enough of Freddy Garcia. Please get rid of him, Duquette!

He's gone as soon as Chen is ready. Britton will remain in the 5th starter spot.

He can have Strop's spot as far as I'm concerned.
Along with Stoner, I'm probably Strop's biggest defender. I've about had it with him. They've tried just about everything -- high leverage, low leverage, DLing him. I don't want to say it's hopeless, but I do think a change of scenery is necessary. I wouldn't be trying to protect him any further, if they have to DFA him so be it.

Why release him? He was good out of the pen for NYY last year give him a shot in the pen.
It's not the worst idea, but I'm not sure how it's going to work this time around.
