Beyond the Boxscore: The Texas Rangers Middle Infield Dilemma
http://www.beyondthe...urickson-profar

This is an interesting offseason if you're a Rangers fan.

Especially that shortstop question. Quality veteran who is only 24 and signed to a reasonable contract for two more seasons, or ridiculously-talented prospect who is or is close to being ready? Plus, he has one of the great names of all time: Jurickson Barthelomeus Profar.

It isn't often a team needs to choose between two players with that amount of youth and potential.

Just about every other team envies this "problem."

Pretty easy, if you ask me. Keep Andrus at SS and put Profar at 2B. Then you either move Kinsler to the OF or to another team.

The article points out that:

1) Kinsler to center field is risky.
2) Kinsler to another team is unlikely due to his age and extension.

What about Kinsler to LF?

Its a great problem to have for sure. Trade Andrus for a haul and start Profar or keep Andrus and just get creative with getting Profar playing time. Or trade Profar for a haul. Or start Profar at AAA and trade Andrus later. Is there really a wrong answer?

As expected, Rangers declined the 2013 options for both Scott Feldman and Yoshinori Tateyama. The Orioles have been linked to Feldman. I can see him as a depth signing.

ESPN Dallas Josh Hamilton gets qualifying offer

http://espn.go.com/d...r-texas-rangers

Hamilton, the 2010 AL MVP, can talk to teams about offers starting at midnight. The Rangers' qualifying offer is slightly below the $13.75 million that Hamilton received in 2012, and he is expected to decline it by Nov. 9.

ESPN Dallas: Rangers to play at Alamodome

http://espn.go.com/d...tonio-alamodome

San Antonio's mayor, Julian Castro, told the Express-News that he believes the game could get local fans interested in trying to attract more big-league teams to the city to join the NBA's Spurs. San Antonio is currently home to the Missions, the Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres.

I think it's very unlikely, but I'll be interested how this game goes.

I thought Young would finish his career with Rangers. Looks like they freed up some $$$. It will be interesting to see where they spend it.

I did for a while myself, I think after they almost traded after signing signing Beltre though, I'm not too surprised. I think this is best for both parties though.
