Sources: Seahawks interested in Deshaun Watson, expected to explore potential trade scenarios, nothing imminent or developing at this time as legal situation is unresolved:

Is there even a timeline on when his legal situation will have more clarity? Unless Houston would part with him right now on a significant discount, which it doesn't seem they're willing to do, I don't bother with him at all for the time being. Unless his situation is cleared up before the draft, I think Seattle needs to trade Lockett and Metcalf, embrace the tank and look to start building around Young or Stroud in '23.

Even if he is, what about the rest of the roster once his cap hit is $50M?

You deal with it. '20 caliber Lamar can carry a team

To the Divisional round? That’s the goal?

The Ravens first Super Bowl featured a QB with a cap hit of $1M. Their second Super Bowl featured a QB with a cap hit around $7M (I think). I'd trust the Ravens more if they kept following the yellow brick road, rather than now having to somehow build a complete team when all that cap space is going to 1 QB that isn't named Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen.

Flacco was 6.6% of the cap in 2012. Ryan Fitzpatrick was 5.3% last year, so that's the kind of veteran you're getting. Lamar is 11% this year so I guess we should probably trade him now. You're saying only to use QBs on rookie contracts, yes?

I think the Ravens should follow the path that’s gotten them Championships.

Anyone want to take that bet I offered?

Youd have to come to an exact %. The cap will keep going up and Lamar will drop under that 20- 25%. Or theyll rework a deal where he is under that % for a few years.

Mahomes is supposed to be 17%, 20, 17 from 2022-24. Allen is supposed to be 7, 17 and 16. Higher salaries later, but the cap isn't projected that far out I guess, and will also certainly go up. A cap hit of 50M this year would be 24%.

The market has gone up, but I don't think Lamar is approaching 25% in the next several years.

I would.  I think Lamar, after the contract, will reach a conference championship sometime here.

Full bar tab at the first BSL HH either post-AFC championship game or post-Lamar leaving the team?  Bet's off if he never signs an extension?

Love it. Deal. Hope I’m wrong btw, and I love Lamar to be clear.

Yea, they should be in great shape unless they want to win games.

They’re in great shape to get Bryce Young or CJ Stroud.

They will take the next 9 months to decide.....between CJ Stroud or Bryce Young, whichever they choose to draft with the #1 overall pick.
