I don't blame him. It's going to take a few years just to get that program on its feet after the disaster Gary Williams left behind in 1986.
Thad Matta is a *bleep*ing miracle worker.

That's not surprising. I can't figure out why anyone thought he'd take that when he turned down UCLA.

He had ties to the area, that's the primary reason. Also, always good to keep your options open, maybe the outlook for the future of VCU basketball is worse than it was last year?

CBS Sports: New Mexico's Craig Neal emerges as legitimate target at South Florida
No offer has been extended, the sources said.
But it's not hard to connect the dots.
USF's new athletic director, Mark Harlan, is a former UCLA associate AD who spent the past 11 months working with first-year UCLA coach Steve Alford, who spent the previous nine years working with Neal at Iowa and New Mexico. When Alford got the UCLA job last March, Neal was promoted to replace his longtime friend and boss, and sources told CBSSports.com that Harlan has a high opinion of Neal because Alford has a high opinion of Neal.

It would be about time. 6 seasons and the best he could do was win the CBI, and that was in his first season. Like UM, many out here think OSU doesn't have the money to buy him out....and why Bob DeCarolis (the AD) gave him an extension after the 2nd season is mind-boggling. He should lose his job too, but he won't.

All the other P12 coaches are happy with the decision the Oregon State AD has made, even if money was a large influence of this.

@GoodmanESPN: Marquette is targeting Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin, multiple sources told ESPN. Ben Howland also in the mix: http://t.co/XRMo3GDv6G
A month ago he was rumored to get fired from Tenn, maybe he thinks he's another bad season away from that despite the Sweet 16 appearance.

But but who will take over K's press duties.
It would've been Johnny Dawkins if Stanford missed the Tourney.
