Contra Costa Times: Oakland Raiders to reduce capacity of stadium in order to avoid television blackouts

Might as well dismantle Mt. Davis like the Skins have done to the upper endzone/corner sections. It's not Jacksonville, where they have a need for it (the UF/UGA game).

Stadium capacity is already only 63K with those seats. They surely hope to take the tarps down eventually. They'll leave for LA before they tear down Mt. Davis.

Man, the Raiders may be the worst-run organization in football, and that's saying something in a sport that is home to the Cleveland Browns.

Their best bet is to be the first team into LA.

Such a Raiders move, they drafted him in the first round after all. 8 million over 2 years is pretty good for a 35 year old kicker.

I think a lot of people have them pegged as the team most likely to get the #1 pick. If they are, Clowney or Bridgewater? Do you opt for the franchise QB at the expense of one of the best defensive prospects in 20 years?

I'm not Mel Kiper or Mike Mayock, not going to pretend otherwise. That's a really tough question though, if Bridgewater is a real elite QB I think you almost have to go with him. If there's a question concerning his credentials, I'm probably going Clowney. Given the Raiders history with Russell, do they go with the defender?

The Raider franchise is just in so much chaos, they looked like they were finally coming through with Hue Jackson and that all fell apart with Al Davis' death.

Davis: Playing On Dirt Field a "Travesty"

http://profootballta...eld-a-travesty/

First of all, great awareness there Mark. You've realized something that has been going on since, oh, the founding of the damn league in 1920.

Second, there's an easy solution to your problem. Build your own damn stadium. Or move in with the Niners. Or go running back to LA where you should have been all along. And when you do, be happy that Alameda County doesn't force you to tear down your father's monstrosity on the way out.

It's official (CBS Sports) -- you could have a quadruple-header TV experience, has that ever happened in the regular season before?

The only thing I can think of doing this on a regular basis is putting a late game on Thanksgiving with moving the primetime game up slightly. It be like how the NBA dominates the entire day on Christmas (but they really do other times during the season as well, just not as prominently). All-in-all, I think four games is a bit of overkill. Many of us will watch but for the more casual fans, it's overkill IMO.
