Any other players with no known criminal history, who you wouldn't be surprised if they committed an act like this?

Does Roethlisberger count?  He's never been convicted of a crime...

In Roger Goodell's court, he's been "convicted."

BTW, does anything good ever happen in Miami? Well, for celebrities I mean? Christ, it seems like 70% of pro player crimes are in Southern Florida.

It is a place, due to the weather and the culture, where a lot of wealthy and famous people both congregate and reside. Since those people are no different than the rest of us, and in many cases came out of far worse backgrounds, they often get into trouble. However, due to their money and fame, there is more media coverage.

Miami itself doesn't create the issues, but they are an unintended consequence.

The list of players I would be surprised by would be much shorter.

I sAw that a few other NFL players could be implicated. I hope Tyrod Taylor isn't involved. He was recently working out with Kaep and I thought it was in Miami but not sure about that.

He's not (ESPN)

According to an incident report filed with Miami police on Friday, an unnamed woman said she had an encounter with Kaepernick, 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seattle Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette on April 1 at the Viceroy in downtown Miami. The woman told police she spent time with the three players, drinking and smoking marijuana in Lockette's apartment and eventually ending up in a bedroom with Kaepernick.

Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora

Colin Kaepernick's 6yr deal is worth $21M a year and has a guarantee of $61M, highest ever. As I said all along, he wouldn't take under $20M

Considering there is demonstrable proof that Kaepernick isn't very important to that team, this contract is incredibly stupid.

I think it's a slight over pay. But this is the going rate for QB's that take you to championships and conference championships.

With this, and Flacco's deal, I'm still surprised ARodg didn't get substantially more. I guess there's somewhat of a ceiling on these mega deals considering there's 52 other guys to pay.

Just wait until he starts having injury issues, which he will.

I think his career will mirror Vick's pretty closely. At least statistically.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Didn't he stay in the pocket a LOT more last season? In the games I watched, that seemed to be the case, granted only 4-5 games probably.

EDIT: should have checked the stats first... had 92 rushes last year, up from 63 in '12.

Kaepernick deal could make it harder to sign other players

Have seen some articles arguing this, and some articles saying it's potentially very team friendly.

Spoke to Vinnie Iyer from Sporting News Saturday, and he said it had elements of both.
