Olt is not Profar and that's what AZ wanted originally. If they accept a deal centered around Olt they are probably getting a worse deal than what they wanted from Texas and what they were getting from Seattle. Towers has not played this well. He tried saying they weren't shopping Upton. It's obvious they have been. The deal to Seattle gets leaked without knowing that Upton will refuse it. Towers doesn't have to trade Upton, but it sure seems as though he almost has to deal him now. The one thing he has going for him is that multiple teams seem to be involved. I would not be surprised to see AZ wind up with a significantly worse deal than Seattle was giving them.

Yea, that's what I have been saying. But if they get Olt, Perez and another few good young prospects, that's still a very good deal.

Seems insane that a guy that was acquired for two months of Carlos Beltran is too good to trade for Justin Upton.

How does SF keep winning WS titles? It seems they are completely immune to Brian Sabean's clear attempts to destroy the franchise.

They get to start Matt Cain, Madison Bumgarner and (usually) Tim Lincecum in a short series.

That's a huge advantage.*

*Yes, I realize your question was mostly rhetorical

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
