Argentina figures to be capable as well, but I'm really looking forward to seeing the US vs. Spain.

Here is a link to Spain's likely roster:http://london2012.fi...62/profile.html

Pau Gasol 16.3 ppg, 9.5 boards
Marc Gasol 14.7 ppg, 10.5 boards
Serge Ibaka 7.5 ppg, 6.7 boards, 2.4 blocks
Ricky Rubio 11.4 ppg, 8.9 assists, 35.4% from 3
Rudy Fernandez 8.9 ppg, 34.8% from 3
Jose Calderon 10.3 ppg, 8.5 assists, 34.9% from 3, 93.6% from the FT line
Juan Carlos Navarro - Back in Spain, in '07-'08 10.9 ppg, 36% from 3.

They should be able to push the Red, White, and Blue.

What roster do you think the US should go with? Lots of tough decisions there.

Here is the US roster (http://london2012.fi...79/profile.html).

I guess you have to get to 12. My 12 would be:

1) Paul, Williams, Rose
2) Wade, Bryant
3) Durant, James, Anthony
4) Love, Bosh
5) Howard, Chandler

Though, I think there is something to the thought of having more role players.

I'd actually take Griffin or Aldrigde over Rose.

I want PG's that are great passers on the olympic team, not a guy like Rose. Plus, he's not a good defender. I'd play Paul as much as possible and then there's DWill, plus I'd play James at the point occasionally to create match-up problems.

Personally, I'd take Gay over Anthony as well. Won't happen though.

Yeah, I'd strongly consider replacing Melo as well. Lets see how he does until the decision has to be made.

And I've changed my mind on Rose, I'd take him and remove DWill.

I wonder if Deng will make the team?

Coach K is the coach and Deng is a very good ALL AROUND player.

I would probably prefer to see him over Melo as you need some defense.

One thing about Melo, is that he has previously excelled in Intl. competition. Several times being the best offensive weapon on the team.

Deng is not American.

Even if he was, James is an incredible defender and Kobe really stepped up defensively last Olympics. With them and Howard, Wade, Paul, Bosh, and possibly Chandler, the D should be good.

Iguodala is among the finalists and he could be added if you want extra defense on the wings. Gay can play good D as well.

Indeed. It would be hard to remove him. If I were in charge, I'd still like to see him play better when he comes back in order to earn a spot.

Very unfortunate for the Wolves and Team Spain.

Calderon ain't a bad replacement for Rubio. Still sucks for Team Spain.

Watching the playoffs, I think Rondo should have been an option for PG. Seems like a pass first PG would make sense with a team full of offensive weapons.

Well maybe he is an option now with Rose' injury. And CP3 is the perfect PG for this team.

Here's the US roster. Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose couldn't play because of injury so Davis and Harden took their place.

F -- Anthony, Carmelo
F/C -- Bosh, Chris
F/C -- Davis, Anthony
F -- Durant, Kevin
PG -- Westbrook, Russell
SF -- Gay, Rudy
SG -- Gordon, Eric
SG -- Harden, James
G/F -- Iguodala, Andre
G -- Bryant, Kobe
G -- Wade, Dwyane
F -- Odom, Lamar
F/C -- Love, Kevin
C -- Chandler, Tyson
F -- James, LeBron
PF -- Griffin, Blake
PG -- Paul, Chris
G -- Williams, Deron

If you're Coach K, who's your starting 5? I don't follow the NBA as much as some people here, but here's my go at the starting lineup.

1. Chris Paul
2. Kobe Bryant
3. LeBron James
4. Kevin Durant
5. Kevin Love

I toyed with having Westbrook ahead of Paul, but I think that's just because I've seen more of him in the Finals. Crazy that 3 OKC players are on the national team.

Well you have to pick your 12 out of that group. This would be my lineup along with reserves in order:

Paul, Westbrook, Williams
Bryant, Wade
Durant, Anthony
James, Love, Griffin
Bosh, Chandler

Love would get time at the 5 as well and I would like to sometimes see James and Durant play at the wings together with two bigs and a PG.

Oh, ok I didn't know that. I like your 12 though. Barring a collapse, I don't see how this team doesn't win gold. Just imagine if Howard was healthy.
