Hopkins isn't a #1 or #2 anymore, but don't see how he can't be usable with Flowers and Bateman.

Still, very wrong side of 30 and that's never good for a WR.

At 33, I dont think Hopkins is coming in here to demand the ball and be a diva. Think he wants to play for a contender. Yes, you keep expectations in check. He's nowhere near the player he was at his peak but he brings experience and an alpha attitude.

Not a huge deal, but it’s silly.

Ideally sure, but Tez had 3 targets and 1 catch. Proche had 1 catch as a rookie, Tylan Wallace 2, even Duvernay a 3rd just 20. This team doesn’t trust rookies.Get the same production with a 6th round pick and no cap hit. That’s what we’re talking about here IMO.

He’s basically replacing Agholor, who gave us 14/231 for 3.75M. I’m fine paying another 1.25M for Hopkins, who’s probably washed but has a higher ceiling than that.
I think this is the best way to look at this move. I dont want to be relying on draft picks or unestablished 2nd year guys as my 3rd WR. If Walker or a draft pick emerges as the season progresses that is awesome, but its much harder to find a proven vet in August or Sept than it is in March.

Has Lamar written all over it, and I don’t like that.
I doubt DeCosta is letting Lamar make personnel decisions. As for the signing, meh. But It's only a year for $6M. If he gives you something, great. if he doesn't give you much, no biggie. With all the receivers and TEs we already have seems like an unnecessary move.
