After a disappointing overtime loss to Northwestern, Maryland returns home to face off against Nebraska on Sunday afternoon. The Cornhuskers currently hold a record of 12-5 (2-4), and are in the midst of a three-game losing streak. Their conference wins have come against Indiana and UCLA, with losses to Iowa, Michigan State, Purdue, and Rutgers. Fred Hoiberg is in his sixth season as their head coach, and led them to their first NCAA Tournament berth during his tenure last year.
Nebraska is led by senior wing Brice Williams, who transferred in from Charlotte last season. He averages 19 points per game, and is an efficient three-level scorer who is also near-perfect from the charity stripe. Wisconsin transfer Connor Essegian is their best three-point shooter, with Turkish UCLA transfer Berke Buyuktuncel representing their best rebounder with the most size down low.
Maryland is 12-4 all-time against Nebraska, and have lost to them just once in College Park (2017).
