I like the idea of Eovaldi if we can get him for one year for around $20 million with a club option for a 2nd year moving forward.  Not sure I want to give him 3 years if we can help it...that'd make him 38 and we'd be paying him for this year's production not his future production which should decline even more the next two years...Unless we could go 3 years for $50...that I may be willing to do.

He just opted out of 1/$20M because he knows he's gonna get more.  I'm with you on wanting to avoid 3 years, but think you're gonna have to guarantee two years at more than the $20M he just turned down annually.  MLBTR predicted 2/$44M.  I'd guess it is slightly higher than that.

Matthew Boyd just got 2/$29M and Frankie Montas 2/$34M.  Eovaldi is clearly better than both of them, so expect the cost to reflect that.

I'd throw 2/$50M at Eovaldi. The rest of the team is relatively dirt cheap and they have plenty of resources.

Im good with that. Also want Burnes, Fried, or Crochet. If Eovaldi is the main addition I'll be uninspired.

I could live with Eflin, Rodriguez, Eovaldi, Kremer, and whoever survives from Rogers/Povich/Saurez/McDermott for the 5th spot.

Adding one of the legit TOR guys and booting the fringe guy would be icing on the cake.

Agree, but I'm hoping for better than just "I could live with". Eovaldi by himself wouldn't be the type of outcome to be calling for heads over, but it would be a less than desirable outcome. If Eovaldi is the 2nd best guy, then I think that's a wildly exciting result for the starting pitching.

A TOR guy plus Eovaldi would be quite a splash for the new ownership groups first offseason.

They did win 101 two years ago without a real TOR starter for the full season. Bradish was obviously great in the 2nd half, and Wells had a really good first half, but other than that they were nothing special. I’d be fine with a reliable middle rotation addition if they could somehow get the BP to where it was in ‘23. But it seems like they are already pretty committed to what they have there and just have to hope for the best.

Like Mack, I'd be good with Eovaldi as the 2nd SP added (or brought back in the case of Burnes).

But I'd also be good with Flaherty instead as the 2nd SP. Get hyped BSL lol
