Ravens have hired Dean Pees back in a senior advisor role to Orr. Respect to Orr and the front office for admitting there is a problem, and they needed help to fix it. Pees wasn't my favorite DC, but he should be able to help Orr figure things out on the fly.
Good move. Now they need to hire someone to help Harbaugh with game management.

So they have had Orr in house for a while now, and hand him the DC job on a contending team and didn't know before now that he needed some help/consultation? I'm glad they're adapting, give them credit for owning it and addressing it, but that's a little puzzling to me. Speaks to the hubris involved with Harbaugh, which is routinely on display.

So did Tandon Doss and Sean Considine.
Correlation ≠ causation.

And Jim Caldwell. I'm sure we'd be thrilled to have him in an advisory role.

Pees is 75 so I wonder how much he can contribute, but like the concept. He was the DC when Orr was playing, so hoping it's a strong relationship.
I'm not sure what you mean here?
His age limiting how active you think he can be?
Or you think at 75, the game has passed him by?
Been the DC with the Titans and Falcons since leaving Baltimore... only been out of the game since after the '22 season.
I like that they gave Orr someone with vast experience to utilize as another resource.
The Secondary has a lot of talent.
They should be playing at a higher level collectively.
As you mentioned ( think it was you), seems like Roquan hasn't been as strong so far.
I'd want to get everyone as comfortable as possible, even if that meant going simplistic.
Improve the communication, and then add week-to-week.

Moreso the first thing.

Doesn't seem to me like an advisory role would come with the sort of physical demands that an on-field coaching role does. I imagine Pees will mostly be in Orr's ear rather than out coaching and directing the players. And in reading about this from the Ravens' release, it sounds like Orr had already been consulting with Pees and the Ravens are just formalizing it now so Pees can get paid.

I heard that too and it makes me wonder how much difference he'll make if they've already been talking. I like the effort though.

That crossed my mind too. Maybe having Pees present on game day to consult with is the difference. [shrug]

Wasn't Pees also known for epic collapses in the 4th quarter?
Wasn't the 2017 season finale the final straw? What a horrific sequence of events.

While I think you’re right, I feel like the team’s problem basically since Harbs became coach, spanning many coordinators on both sides, is going into turtle prevent mode with a lead. Don’t know if it’s a Pees problem or not.

Yep. It was constant.

Pees never blitzed. And with a lead he'd fall back in 8 and 9 man cover-3 and cover-4 zones and got torched underneath. I hated him as a DC if I'm being honest. But he does know his stuff. And if he can help Orr with his coverages, I'm all for it. Just hope he keeps being aggressive.
