The fact that they did this 5 games in is telling.

It is. It bothers me more than it should. Increasingly so. He was not a good coordinator. Feels like the blind leading the blind. In addition to Orr being the wrong decision in the first place.

Obviously Pees isnt going to be calling the plays. Maybe they feel like Orr is lacking when it comes to schemes and gameplanning. Maybe Pees was pretty good in those regards but just wasnt a good game day playcaller. Im willing to give this move a chance its just that it is telling to me. I mean the Ravens had to understand that bringing back a former DC at this time would raise eyebrows. So for them to do it is telling

Harbs almost had Rosburg helping him until whatever happened with that. Orr needs Pees helping him. Orr was very much a Harbaugh pet project, so that makes sense. Not that Orr can't become a great DC. But when you pass over more experienced coaches and hand the job to a guy who's never done it at any level because he's one of "your type of guys"... then 6 weeks in you have to add an experienced vet to consult... it says something.

Harbs is really the one that needs a sharp advisor on game days the most.

I don't buy at all that Orr needs Pees or is in over his head. I hope he can help, but when the defense starts playing well which I fully expect (and started last week), I'll be giving the credit to the players and Orr. Don't think Pees is the missing link, though the timing will probably work out that way (though do think Mondays game will be a shootout on both sides).

Read today that despite being #31 in passing yards allowed that the Ravens are #1 in the league in forcing opponents to throw into tight windows (<1 yard of separation) and #2 in fewest targeted receivers that were open, according to NextGen Stats. I imagine that disparity could be due to a combination of factors, but it doesn't suggest a problem with the coverages being called to me.

I feel like the eye test would agree as well. Brandon Stephens seems to have tight coverage every play, and a WR just seems to make a phenomenal contested catch on him. (Devante Adams and Terry McClauren are two of those WR's for what it's worth) I feel like if Stephens can improve his ball skills just a tad, dude could lead the league in INT's. Humphrey has graded out great in coverage as well. It's very odd, I feel like eventually luck will have to sway towards the Ravens side as the season progresses.

With that said, I also feel like WR's have found wide open space deep a lot as well. Im not sure what's up with Marcus Williams. But he has regressed horrible.

Williams looks hesitant to hit. And that was NOT him when he got here. Wonder if an injury of some sort isn't still in play with him...

Would LOVE to see Stephens work on getting his head around and finding the ball more. But he's also been around long enough that I don't expect it to happen. I don't think that dude has seen the ball in the air on any go route down the sideline his entire career.

Ravens Wired last week had a clip of Wiggins talking to someone after his PI and admitting he needs to work more on getting his head around and finding the ball. It's at least encouraging he recognizes the issue. Might have been Hamilton he was talking to, but the guy was basically like "Yeah, you do". :)
