If we can't touch up this dude.....
You would think but we keep having games against guys like this and don't hit squat.

The irony is that some of their best offensive games were against elite pitchers. Go figure.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Im not sure the angst over the lineup. OHearn is a known paltoon guy. Mullins cant hit lefties. Adley striaght sitting vs DHing is the only potential surprise. Cowser is in. Holliday is in. Mayo is in. Whats the issue exactly

I said yesterday I was close to give up mode. Will post less depressing stuff when I get there.

Yeah Slater > Mullins, Jimenez > O’Hearn vs LHP. Urias is a reverse splits guy, struggles vs lefties. Adley is struggling in general.

Slater had an .800 OPS (132 ab's) vs. LHP last year.
This year Slater has a .543 OPS overall, 109 ab's. .481 OPS vs. LHP, 81 ab's.
So... idk. Don't know Cantillo's MiL splits.
Figure Slater now starts the game with a double to the gap, but I don't think he needs to be leading off, even if he's playing.
Also, his defensive metrics so far this year are a touch below average. Historically right around average. (OAA last 3 years positive, DRS and UZR/150 were bad in '22.)
His offense '21-'23 was good enough.

This in a nutshell is why a number of us were not happy at the deadline. This team shouldn't have to settle for a player who used to be good enough but is now struggling. Hoping they can get back to some previous level of performance. Dumpster diving 2.0 I guess.....lol

Slater leading off. Now I’ve seen it all. Both Elias and Hyde need to be drug tested.

Lots and lots of MLB hitters were great….right up until they weren’t anymore.

Who else are we complaining about not playing? Adley? Sure, he'll get going eventually... he's also got a .492 OPS over the last month. McCann might not be a huge drop off at this point.
