I wonder sometimes about Palmer too because he grew up loving the Yankees.

When he makes it to 70 years as an Oriole, will you forgive him for liking Mickey Mantle when he was 10?

I don’t think Palmer roots for the Yankees when we play them

Gary Thorne would get a little too excited for Boston back in the day. Still liked him, though.

How many franchises in history have had two can’t miss catchers both bust in a 15 year period?

Like, what did we do as fans to deserve this

For those of you who couldn't watch the game, here's the epic 9th.

Athletics did to the Phillies today what they did to us last Saturday. Gotta love this game we are all obsessed with.

Missed the whole game while driving today but Kremer plunked Judge (though I'd have liked to see it farther up and in) and Holmes gets the L with Verdugo embarrassing himself mightily... awesome friggin Sunday to take to the break.

I went to 4 games this week and thought I was going 0 for 4.  Today's top of the 9th left me depressed as hell.  Sitting in this oppressive heat in section 46 which was filled with Yankee fans listening to their obnoxious crap.  Things looked bleak but the Orioles did not give up and maybe got the win of the year.  I think the Orioles were pressing and look like a very tired team.  Hopefully the break refreshes them.  Let's make some additions and win this division.   Today absolutely had the playoff feel.

Disgraceful game thread

I made the mistake of reading it.  Disgusting takes.  I get depressed in weeks like this, but this was mean spirited.  I was in the middle of Yankee fans and I don't think they were as hard on the Orioles..

Not sure which team had the more demoralizing half inning here. Take the gift and figure out how to get back to good baseball after the break.

Exactly.  I think the break is coming one week late, but it is much needed.  The team has come off of a brutal stretch.

I think most of the criticism was warranted. I don't have a problem with people posting what they do here.

Didn't follow nor back read the game thread but can only imagine. Especially through Kimbrel's appearance. :)

That said, cliche time... baseball is 162 game season, every team will have hot, cold, and warm streaks. Marathon not a sprint. Etc. Yadda yadda yadda.

This offense will score big and in bunches at times, overall it will be top tier productive, and at times it will struggle. That's kind of the nature of how it's constructed. The back end will usually close the door, and sometimes blow it open. Felix or an equivalent isn't showing up this year, but even he isn't flawless.

Just have to hope Burnes and Grayson are healthy and "on" come October, and the offense is dialed in making contact and not whiffing a ton. They'll go deep if that happens. If not, it'll be a disappointing quick exit.

Calling what was going on criticism is being very kind.

I read back through the pages and I didn't find it appalling.  Just the usual frustration in the moment it's happening.  That's your typical fan and I'm certainly no exception.  I think most people are fair weathered fans and its why attendance tanks when you have a lousy team.  You always remain positive, along with a few others, which is fine.  Some on here really go off the deep end when they read the negative comments.  Like family members have been assaulted. I find that pretty silly to be honest but hey, to each his own.

It was driving me crazy we were allowing their scrubs in the bottom of the order to beat us.

Also, it's the Yankees. Makes the hysteria a lot worse.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I made a comment on Facebook last week about fireworks and the idiocy behind them (mainly this fixation with the M80's) and it caused a firestorm of over 600 comments in 2 days.  Some of the backlash I got made this forum look like Romper Room.  Truly scary what's out there in the lunatic fringe.
