I say let Baker pitch the 9th with a 3-run lead.
Him or Tate. But Hyde will use Kimbrel unless Gunner plates another run.....well there it is!

I mean, I guess use Kimbrel here and count him out for tomorrow then the off day Monday have him somewhat fresher for NY.

I guess the idea is that once he's warmed up, it's kind of a sunk cost. He's not going to be available tomorrow regardless, so they may as well use him.

Way rather not use him today so he could go tomorrow. And hopefully end up not needing him tomorrow either.

That's the way I'm looking at it.
I don't think it's would be true for a younger reliever, but for a guy who is pushing 36, it was might be.

Good point.
Also, they were building their lead throughout the inning. He was probably ready to go by the time the run to put them by four scored.
