There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

That might be the worst call to end a game ever.

Baseball can be pretty stupid at times. The baserunner was walking back to the bag, and because Gunnar’s path was interrupted by that, the runner gets called out.
I mean, I’ll take it, but that’s pretty dumb.

I guess I don't get why that call makes sense on an infield fly play since the catching of the ball no longer matters, but cool.

I mean it does matter. The runners can run freely. Its just that if the ball is indeed caught the runners will be doubled up.I'll certainly take it as well!

It was a bad call though

Well it doesn't matter if the runners aren't running freely, which was the case.

Technically the catch does matter even after the infield fly call results in the batter being out. If you don't catch it, there's no need for a tag up. If you do, there is. Trivial maybe, but the rules are the rules.

Odd yeah, but as a runner you can't impede a fielder's path to the ball. Oh well, after the Rich Garcia incident in 96, I will never ever lament the Orioles getting the benefit of an iffy call.

2013 there was a modification to the IF fly rule:
If interference is called during an infield fly, the ball remains alive until it is determined whether the ball is fair or foul. If fair, both the runner who interfered with the fielder and the batter are out. If foul, even if caught, the runner is out and the batter returns to bat.

Rarely do you see runner's interference called in the first place, so when it is called, you would expect the infraction to be particularly egregious, which this didn't appear to be.
But I'll take the call and the win.

Horrible call to end the game, but I'll take it.
Just another case of umpires injecting themselves needlessly into the game. They just can't let the players play.
