MASN might be the worst sports network Ive ever watched. My wife and I hate these extended interviews they have during the game. And their production is so bad. During the interview with Grayson (still going on btw) when Mateo grounded to 3b they had Grayson on full screen and didn't even get to see the play.
So poor.
The whole concept of interviewing a player during a game is idiotic to begin with. Whose brainstorm was that? Hard to believe Hyde even allows it.

A horrible strike 3 call actually goes our way for a change. Thanks Blue.

Can we trade managers with the Cards?

Marmol is awful and should’ve been fired last year. He doesn’t know how to develop talent and by all accounts it’s not a great culture. Hyde has his issues, but he runs circles around Marmol.

Perhaps. But Marmol doesn't have anywhere near the talent to manage they Hyde has. Really, I don't know anything about Marmol. Just grousing that we have all this talent and a pretty poor in game manager.

It was done before the delay.

Wonder if anticipating the possibility of this rain delay is why they didn't use Irvin in the first game?

That would be a classic mistake.
Don't use the best option in a tied game because maybe there might be a rain delay in the second game? You don't know if you are really going to end up having a delay and if you do does it go on long enough that the game is suspended like last night anyway.

It's horrendous. Hopefully the new ownership group sees it and prioritizes improving that as well. And not just MLB games but just the network as a whole.
I know it's MLB season and they have big important carriage rights to worry about first, I get that... but I'd LOVE to see them do more local college and high school sports coverage. Have touched on this a time or two before, but Delmarva Sports Network is both over-the-air (free) and basic cable, and is somehow managing to survive / keep the lights on with just local high school and college sports for the most part. Live broadcasts of high school and college games almost every day / night it seems. It's like their mission is to highlight and support local young athletes, and I have to assume they're turning a profit doing it??? The network is almost "2.5 years old" now. Hard to convince me that if "DSN" can do what they've been doing for over 2 years now... MASN couldn't add in some similar content and not bankrupt themselves.
Would be cool to see some high school baseball / softball games that start at 3:30 covered until 6:00 or something, then break away to the "big" stuff as needed. "Switch to the MASN app for continued coverage" could be the message when they have to leave a game. And even easier to do in the late fall and winter when MLB is done and there isn't nearly as much alternate pro sports competition.
