They only scored 4 runs after their 5 run first inning. Bums.
Gets quiet in here when we win handily. Except for predictions of doom.

On pace again for 108 wins.

That's two straight games where the bats have started to heat up. Good to see. Hopefully, they're about to go on a 10 game tear offensively.

Sad but true.
People here reverse the old phrase. If you don't have anything negative to say, say nothing at all.

Well it was Friday night. Some probably have a life outside of here. Not me but I am sure some do. But I do have an excuse. I was busy playing poker with some really nice idiots......

I try to stay balanced between the positive and negative. It's hard for me to take the Pollyanna approach because I'm a realist but I do want the Orioles to do well and enjoyed the offensive improvements the past two games.

I think it has become the norm for people to be over critical. I used to post a lot during the game threads but avoid them during the games. I usually take a look after the game is over or the next day.

Means is just a good pitcher. I wish more guys knew how to pitch instead of just how to throw 98.
He's got an excellent change up and when he has good command of it, he's tough.

He is my favorite Oriole pitcher to watch. Yesterday was typical John Means. He was a little strong early on, and his pitches were up a bit. He settled in and adjusted and got better from there. I hope he stays healthy, because I think John Means will step up big down the stretch and hopefully in the play offs.
Your right Means is just a good pitcher, in the truest sense of the word.

There were other good things that came out of last night, in addition to John Means.
Austin Hays--He had another successful pinch hit. Another double. The best part is how he ran the bases, especially the mad dash home. Great baserunning and he looked healthy. The Orioles need hays, and hopefully he is ready to play ledt field.
Cowser looked good. He also moved well in centerfield.
Gunnar and Mateo defensively are a pleasure to watch. Good teams have to be solid up the middle and Gunnar and Mateo are far better than solid. Both legitimate gold glove types.

The entire infield is really really good. Westburg has been terrific at 3b and Mounty is superb at the other corner.

Hasn’t walked a batter yet through three starts. That helps.

I also feel that, because his success isn't predicated on high velocity , he will be able to maintain his success well into his mid 30s.
