Pitching Baumann the right call. I'd have given him the whole inning. This is part of his audition for a roster spot once Rodriguez or Wells returns. Zero leverage, so good time to use one of your weaker arms. Plus keeps Suarez available for Tuesday where 3 IP might not.

Baumann will never be a trust arm out of the pen because of his command issues, even when he's pumping it in at 99 MPH.

Huge difference between last year and this year series against Cincinnati.

Going into an off day with a dominant sweep always feels good!

8 runs in the last 6 games? Dominant pitching.

A little bit of a sour note to end it but a fantastic week of baseball for the birds.

Happy flight!

Man I watched inning 1,5,7 & 9 via the Reds perspective and man did the announcers sound beat down. I mean huge swaths of dead air, literally nothing to say. The call on the GS…”drilled…11-0”. Hilariously !

Kremer’s throwing hand seems to be bothering him a bit. Did anyone catch that after the k of Elly there?

Very observant young man. He did this multiple times throughout the game. A little concerning. Could be tingling or numbness which wouldnt be good

Your brother may be figuring out the Reds are not in the Orioles class.

The way he was biting at it, I thought it might be a blister.  He was doing the same thing against the Yankees.

The clinching of his fist and shaking of the hand def led me to believe tinging or numbness. But its tough to know for sure. Wish someone would have asked. Maybe they did?? Either way something was bothering him.

He is throwing so well, let's hope it is nothing.

With the 2 off days, he will not pitch again to next Sunday.

The staff sees this too, and likely were monitoring his blister or whatever pustule situation was developing.

I mean, right?

Since no one asked about it, it's all speculation but to me, it looked like he was trying to shake off discomfort traveling down his arm to his hand.  If it was a blister, I would think he'd keep looking at it and I never saw that.  He even clinched his hand at one point with a grimace on his face.  Whatever it was, it was causing him pain.

Why have Baumann come in to get 2 outs with an 11 run lead in the 9th? Just doesn't make sense.

Very late but I’ll give my 2 cents: Hyde wanted to get Baumann some work in a low leverage spot while simultaneously allowing Suarez to be available in Washington. I think it was the right call.
