Yup, early night. Keep throwing fastballs right down the dick. Holliday is the only one who is gonna miss those. I had to do it

People better keep the Rodriguez expectations in check. He's alright. He's not a CY candidate. THats always been a crazy take.

Just let him stay in so he can give up 10 to a trash tier team. Why not?
Yup. Pitch count was still low and only the 4th. Cant waste an already tired pen because he sucks tonight

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Someone let the HP ump that it's only 7-3 and we don't have to try and get home early.

Rodriguez certainly wasn't going to go the whole year without getting hit hard occasionally. Happens to the best of pitchers.

Didn't watch any. Was he awful and giving up ropes all night or balls just finding gaps? 11 hits is crazy, but 7 K to 1 BB is good. Bummer either way. First loss of the season in a game started by Burnes or Rodriguez.

I didn't watch either. Of 16 balls in play 6 were over 100 MPH, 10 were over 95 MPH, which doesn't seem great. 8 had an xBA over .850 which also doesn't seem great, and 10 of 11 hits had xBA over .490 so they weren't bloops I guess. 14 swing and misses seems good though.

He was getting raked like it was BP. The velo, etc was still there, the location kind of sucked (way to much middle-middle) but hitting is supposed to be hard but they were on him like they knew what was coming.
It's kind of bogus when someone says "he made one mistake". Pitchers make a whole bunch of mistakes all of the time. Guys swing through terrible pitches. What we should say is "he only paid for one mistake", because you get away with most of them.
GRod got away with nothing yesterday...at one point they were 7/15 with 5 X-base hits and none of them were cheap.
