Jackson, you gotta swing that stick buddy.

I have no idea what he was looking for.

Thats it for Holliday. Like he shouldve been PH for there but I understand why Hyde stayed with him there. To let strike 3 go right down the middle tells me he is overthinking things. He decided to let that pitch go beforehand

It’s legitimately unreal how bad he’s been.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

LOL at the hometown announcers pretending the ump didn’t postage stamp-size Lugo out of the game with a sudden change in K zone.

Then rung up on a ridiculous pitch that cost us another run. Get roboumps up here. It also cant be said enough that Hyde has to protect his players. This BS is consistent

He's probably sent down after the Angels series. Only 1 RHP to face in Anaheim.

Jackson letting a fastball go by when the pitcher was struggling to throw strikes with the bases loaded is a major tell that he’s getting his wires crossed. He absolutely overthought it.

I don't think he's trusting himself at this point.

Confidence is becoming an issue.

Freaking sad how much impact the home plate ump can have on this great game. That third strike on Gunnar was atrocious. Cost us a run and Hyde doesn't do a damn thing about it.

I don't care if you are bitching from the dugout. Get you ass out there and show some spunk. Get tossed. Enough of this crap.

With the 0 for 3, he's 1 for 30.

It's horrible, it's also 9 games.

The O's were on pace for 105 wins entering today.

He's batting 9th.

They should talk to him (Hyde did), and determine where he is mentally.

I'm sure he's pressing as others have said... but that doesn't mean he's defeated. *

I'd prefer to continue running him out there and going through this now.

It's always going to be an adjustment.
You (as a player) need to go through failures, and adversity and work yourself out to the other side.

*If they talk to him and feel like he's not mentally there, I'd be more on board with sending him down.

That was the clearest evidence he is outthinking himself. Same thing happened to Cowser last year. You saw how uncomfortable he became. You have to be able to go out there and just play. Its time, just like it became obvious it was time with Cowser last year.

Yeah but Jackson just made a terrific play on D. So keep trotting him out there.

Could a 2 hit game snap him out of it. I just dont think so. Beyond the confidence, there are some mechanical issues he has to fix.

He's hit the ball hard twice today. Then the K. At least he's got that going for him. Still not getting much launch angle, though.

I don't think it's costing the O's wins, and him going back to AAA and crushing the International League again doesn't imo get him more ready to handle life in the bigs.

I can get on board with the idea of just giving him the breather, regaining the confidence, etc....  but at some point a prospect like him has to come up, play regularly hell or high water, and if life is coming at you a million miles an hour and you are struggling for the first time in your life.... part of that is good.... you have to go through that imo.

Hat tip to Irvin after the series this bullpen has had. Much needed start.

He’s literally the worst hitter in MLB history.

4.79 era after today.

Today was the extreme good, and you aren't expecting this.

Need him to not immediately take you out of games.

I have to disagree.

Holliday is so competitive that he is not going to tell the manager that He's being affected mentally. In his mind, this may be akin to giving up.

Mechanically, His front shoulder is flying open and he is trying to pull everything. He's kind of jumping out of his shoes.

That backwards K on 3-2 was so indicative of someone who may be struggling mentally. His rope has be a bit shorter at this point. He needs some success and it doesn't appear to happening anytime soon at this level. Hopefully, He'll break out.

Stop jinxing Irvin. You all are playing with fire giving him props. He can implode at any time
