All the games could have gone either way. The other team is trying too.
Offense will wake up but ugh since the second game.
Pitching has been good.
Find a way to win....didn't happen the last 2 games.

Kind of need a blowout to get things re-aligned. Playing every game where every pitch matters forces you into the high burn rate on everyone and every mistake is over-blown.
Hard way to stay consistent..

Btw if I ever see people look at a schedule ahead of time and try to be like oh we play so and so to start the year. We can get out to a great April. Thats not how crap works. Stop it with that stuff forever. Especially at the start of a new season.
That's a very true statement. Two seasons ago how many people said that about the Orioles? They weren't thinking that the Orioles had been drafting early for the last 5 years or so. Well, so have the Pirates and the Royals and maybe some of that talent showed up over the last week.

What a sad, pathetic series.
Nope. You need to reevaluate. It was sad and pathetic to go 1-2 and be in position to win all 3. Sad and pathetic?? This is why man. This is why. Just use appropriate language,

These perennial tail-enders also haven't yet been exposed to the realities of a 162-game season. Everyone is optimistic in April and their play can reflect that.

Yeah but they both gave the Orioles hell. And, they exposed weakesses-soft bullpen in spots, vulnerability to lefthanded pitching, weak bottom of order. What happens when we play contenders?

We'll find out soon enough starting Tuesday.

The bullpen, defense, and offense were all average to poor for the majority of the series. Despite their early record, I don't believe Pittsburgh is very good. The fact that this team can't hit mediocre pitching, and can't hold mediocre lineups in check close and late is not good. If you want to pick some different adjectives to use, fine, but this was a very disheartening showing from a team that should be much better than it appears to be. I know it's a long season and these series will occur from time to time, but this team has not looked right for a week.
