Another soft-tossing LHP to stifle our offense.

Great, another lefty. Os were never gonna start Holliday up here from Day 1 but he wouldnt have played vs many, maybe none, of these lefties we've faced. Ridiculous to risk losing a year of service time when a good number of the days he is on the roster is either an off day or on a day he'd start on the bench

I can get on-board keeping him down 2 weeks for service time... but being up from the beginning, facing ML lefties, going through adjustments (failures) is part of why you'd have him up imo.

Gunnar had a .620 OPS vs. lefties last year.
He had a .669 OPS in April with 27 k's in 71 ab's.

He was still gaining that experience, and going through those early adjustments.

If you are going to want Holliday helping you win games late in the year; then I think part of the equation is giving him as much time as possible now.

And yes, these games do count, so I understand the argument of why you would be platooning him if he was up...  but in-general, once he's up, I think you just keep him in the lineup everyday and go from there.

I dont know that he will play vs all lefties but yes once he is called up he is their "every day" 2b and will get extended time to figure things out. Hes not being sent back down unless he is really bad over an extended period.

Nice seeing Urias on the bench. Mateo at 2b and Westburg at 3b is the better option vs LHP.

You'll never hear Elias admit to the Holliday demotion as a service time issue but we all know it is.  Henderson was put in the every day line-up last year, struggled mightily against all pitching for over a month before finally settling in and letting his natural talent take over.  The same could have been done with Holliday.

The Orioles are hitting .226 as a team so I can only imagine what it's been since the first two games.  Thankfully, they've pitched to a 3.07 team ERA and that's why they're 5-3 and not 2-6.

They have to start stringing better ABs. Sometimes the results wont be there even if the spproach is good. Right now none of it is good. Hyde's been harping on it for days now.

A strong offensive showing would be huge today. Need some guys to break out of slumps and with both bullpens missing some key pieces this has the potential to be a slugfest.

And a lazy fly out to end the top of the first. Hope Kremer has some stuff today.

Its not like they're hitting in bad luck right now. Just consistently weak contact.

Kremer was on his game in that inning. Santander should have caught that ball but he got caught in between.
