Remember Sat night after we smashed the Angels again. Angels and Os now have same record. Post doesnt really mean anything other than to show how quickly things can change in a SSS

I push back on the idea that we should have just cancelled, it was obviously playable so that would have only been done for strategic reasons which would have been obvious to everyone. But do you want to tell your team on game 5 "I'm afraid to send you in against the Royals with our fifth starter." Also it's very possible we get cancelled tomorrow, the Royals aren't scheduled to come back, so you're going to start throwing away your August or September days off already in the first week.

 

Burnes should have started on regular rest though, I don't understand why that didn't happen. Then a cancellation tomorrow gets us back on schedule without Irvin.

Creatures of habit. Told ahead of time Irvin would start today and Burnes tomorrow. So they werent gonna mess with either guy once it looked like a cancelation was possible. Thats why I dont think they moved Burnes up. Later in the season in a pennant race they prob do it. But then again now Burnes will be on 7 days rest if tomorrow doesnt happen. I stand by tonight being the night they shoulda called. Yeah, they played and got it in but I dont think it woulda said anything or looked that suspicious. It rained for large portions of the game. It was miserable. None of the players wouldve minded sitting out tonight. That I can say with almost certainty
