Likely because the O’s don’t have enough established starters to fall back on the luxury of skipping the 5th man early in the season.

Irvin is not a #5 starter. Guy is garbage. Good thing the KC pitcher is terrible too. Get the bats going.

This isnt even off the wall stuff Im saying. I said to call it last night. They arent playing a DH on a getaway day so no Irvin wouldnt have started tomorrow should they play. You also dont need a 5th SP. He was complete dogshit in ST. The most predictable thing in the world. Hes bad. Use anyone else on the 40 man

Agree with this. Would've only needed a 5th starter or bullpen game a few times in April. Ride Burnes hard.

Maybe the thought was use Irvin against a bad KC team? If this was Houston or something maybe they end the series with Burnes and Grayson
