FanGraphs: The 2024 Pre-Spring Training ZiPS Projected Standings: American League

So basically ZiPS projects Baltimore as the team to beat in the AL.

Interesting that losing both Henderson and Rutschman for the season still has them coming in at 84-78. I get the depth point but I have a hard time believing that losing those two guys together only drops our record by 6 wins.

 

Also from a technical perspective I found this statement very odd (why would you use two different methodologies)

 

"The methodology isn’t identical to the one we use for our playoff odds, which were released yesterday, meaning there naturally will be some notable differences in the results."
