Actually Boras has been getting taken to the cleaners in what he wants vs gets over the last decade plus EXCEPT for the 18 months or so heading into the last couple CBA negotiations. MLB (likely intentionally) has let him screw them to undermine his influence in the negotiations. If your guys are getting paid, you can't argue guys aren't getting paid. He has worked to gain control (clients) of the 8 guys on the 2 committees that do a lot of the work for MLBPA (last CBA he had 5 of them).
This offseason reminds me more of 2018 where he was promising a lot to a lot of guys and all of his clients fell well short. Everyone will still get paid and I understand 9/270 is just designed to make 8/200 seem reasonable (why anyone falls for this, I don't know)...but Boras will likely resort to the Scherzer strategy (or more recently the extreme Ohtani strategy) to make the number look bigger than it is.
Nobody has been willing to take the Giants money in recent years. I could see Chapman, Bellinger and Snell all taking heavily deferred deals to bump up the perceived total and try and make a statement together, at least that's what it would be sold as. Then Boras lavishes them publicly.
Someone should tell Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Holliday, and his who’s who of clients what a terrible agent he is so they can get proper representation.
