I get it but for me, now winning a championship doesn't take away how enjoyable the season was. Of course, we've been scarred by a 40 year dry spell, so a good regular season around provides a lot more here than it would in Atlanta, Boston, New York, etc.
While sports teams are generally judged by championships, baseball is so unique with regard to the length of the season. Were the Rangers really the best team in baseball in 2023? No but they got hot at the right time and tore it up for about a month.
It’s great, if you don’t care about winning championships. I get it. Long season, a lot of games, winning 101 means it feels really good way more than it doesn’t over the course of six months. They exceeded all expectations.
When the season starts again and we can live in the moment of a game and forget the rest, it will be fun again in the moment.
Right now is not fun. Sitting idle. Everyone else getting better. There was zero fight in the playoffs and they got embarrassed. Go 5 games against Texas, it’s palatable. Might as well have not even shown up. Still chapped I guess, that’s probably where my negativity came from.
