I will keep dreaming...
"...Nothing has been finalized and talks may still fall apart..."
When it comes to all things Orioles and Angelos, talks usually do fall apart...

Interesting.
I've continued to hear Bill Miller, Larry Lucchino, Cal.

Not getting my hopes up, but it would be the best Christmas gift ever.

Doubt. Maybe this is why the lease hasn't been agreed to yet, though.

David Rubenstein was born in Baltimore, so there may be hope.

I always go back to the comment attributed to Georgia Angelos when her and her sons were at war. Her comment to the sons was "protect the wealth", which clearly John does. This would be a way to enhance it.

At this point, maybe anything is better.

Holy crap, Dan Snyder and the Angeloses in the same year?

He could be from Mars for all I care. My takeaway on him is his net worth is estimated at $4.6B, so he shouldn't need to skim millions off the club to fund his lifestyle.

It is also possible the Governor has realized the current owner is a dope who wants to look like a mover and shaker in revitalizing downtown without actually contributing.

I think the more likely explanation, and that's only if this reporting is accurate, is that whatever came out of the family settling their differences involved selling the team...and since, as has been discussed before, it is to the benefit of Pete's estate as far as tax liability to sell after he has passed, that maybe the end is nearing for him if they are already having discussions.

Not only would this be huge, but it would also come at a perfect time. A new owner taking over within the next calendar year would leave enough time for them to offer Adley and Gunnar whatever it takes to keep them in Baltimore for the long haul. Trying not to get my hopes up too much, but this could revolutionize the franchise.

Elias combined with a legit high-mid / low-major (because this franchise is no less than that with MASN structured as is) market payroll budget is something I'd love to see become reality.
Article doesn't talk about it, and I'm sure it's been discussed before but I'm unaware... I assume MASN / control of MASN is / has to be part of the sale?

Two separate businesses, so doesn't have to be part of sale. But I'd imagine the Angeloses would sell together to maximize value. I can't decide if I think MASN is an asset or not, probably depends on if the current 2/3 split with Washington and control over tv rights remains or if MLB manages to gut it.

There was a Washington Post article last year that initially said the MASN agreement ended if the O's were ever sold, but the article was later revised and that part was removed.
