That’s called effort. Completely unacceptable.
I mean it's not just the offense. The defense is awful. Constantly getting beat on drives, losing their man, etc. They're doing nothing well and not one player is pulling his weight. Truly terrible from top to bottom.

Is there something crazy going on behind the scenes?

Very little talent on this roster. Shame on Willard.
It's not great talent but better than what we've seen. There have been some worse halves score wise but this is the worst half of MD basketball I've ever watched.

There are supposed to be two All Big Ten players, a 5th year experienced Senior, and two Froah expected to make immediate impact.
Makes me think something else is going on.
That said, I don't think Reese is "that guy" and that's an issue.

Young, Reese, and Scott are OK. Definitely useful starters, but not stars.
Who knows what the freshman like Harris-Smith and Kaiser will be. Lamothe obviously isn't in the equation.
The rest of the fillers probably don't belong on D1 rosters.

Don’t even come out for the 2nd half. Waive the white flag. And then make these players walk down 95 back to College Park.
This is absolutely despicable. There’s just zero excuse for non-competitive behavior (behavior not results) in game 4 of the season. I seriously can’t believe this is happening. Villanova isn’t even good. They just lost to Penn and won’t be ranked next week.
Good job guys, good job.

Unless Maryland suddenly comes into a bunch of Texas A&M-style oil money, it’ll be too soon for at least the next few years.
How soon is too soon to fire Willard?

Please stop saying stuff like this. It isn’t true. It’s an excuse. Plenty of resources available to do this.

Villanova 36th and MD 47th in KenPom.
To be fair, Villanova distributes the rock pretty well. Of course, playing Maryland makes them look better than perhaps they should.

I have zero interest in being fair right now.

I'm sure Xavier is loaded with NIL money, too.

If only we rooted for a team out of the bustling state of Ohio instead of the piss poor, broke DMV.I'm so glad Maryland's too moral to go after coaches like Sean Miller.

F’ing joke.
