After losing both of their games at the Asheville Championship Tournament over the weekend, Maryland will head back on the road to face off against Villanova as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games on Friday night. The Wildcats began the season with two straight victories over American and La Moyne, but fell to Penn in a big upset on Monday night as part of the Big 5 Classic. Kyle Neptune is in his second season as their head coach after taking over for Jay Wright.

 

Former Maryland G Hakim Hart transferred to Villanova before the season, and has come off of the bench in each of their first three games. He's averaging 5 points and 4 rebounds in about 18 minutes per game.

It’s the old Motion-Less Turgeon offense for Maryland. Pass around the perimeter, no movement off the ball, chuck up a contested three late in the shot clock. Awful.

I mean it's not just the offense. The defense is awful. Constantly getting beat on drives, losing their man, etc. They're doing nothing well and not one player is pulling his weight. Truly terrible from top to bottom.
