I give Maryland credit for fighting back but way to many unforced errors

It was in the direction. Protect the QB right? I don't complain much about officiating but has nothing to do with the playoffs. That call would never be made against Michigan.
Eh, that's why they changed the rules to let him do that if you are out of the pocket. You still have to give the defense a chance to make plays. Even if you take that play out, he made enough gaffes today that cost his team a chance at a win.
Appreciate that he came, and helped them win more games than they have in over a decade, but I'm ready to move on. The mental mistakes are just too costly and frustrating to watch, and he just never got better in that regard despite four seasons of experience.

Is Michigan going to vacate any wins, and eventually win a 1,000th game for a second time?
By the time the NCAA finishes its investigation and decides on a punishment, they'll probably have another thousand wins.

I'll still take Scotty McBrien and what he did for Maryland.

Signature wins won’t come if you can’t get out of your own way.

At least that way they wouldn't have to photoshop Harbaugh into the 1,000th win picture.

Please tell me who has said hes the best in program history. ROFL
Taulia is pretty awful for “best QB in program history.” Hard to draw it up any more in the direction of coming up small in the biggest moments than it already is.

Stats obviously don’t tell the whole story, but he holds basically all of the program’s passing records. Leads the conference in passing yards, passing TDs, and total TDs this year as well.

Who's he competing against for that title? Scott McBrien? Boomer Esiason? Not like Maryland has a long history of great QB play.
Kinda like being voted Best Chef at McDonald's.

That’s just wild. I didn’t realize this.

Boomer, Reich, Neil O'Donnell, Milanovich (wild card option for a future HC), McBrien...

Bob Avellini played 9 years for the Bears (including 50 starts) after being a 6th round pick. He was the starting QB when I first became a MD football fan. Then there was Mike Tice who played in the NFL for 14 years (albeit as a TE).
Yep, all in all, there hasn’t been a lot of great QB play at MD.

Maryland has had some good QB’s. Many played in the NFL. Besides the ones that have been mentioned, Scott Milanovich, Shaun Hill, Frank Reich, Stan Gelbaugh and others were good enough to play at the next level.

Good call on Hill and Gelbaugh - I forgot that each had played in the NFL. Boomer, Reich, and Gelbaugh all played for Bobby Ross.

Scott Zolak. Spent most of his time at MD stuck behind O'Donnell, but started in his 5th season and led them to the only bowl game they made in between the Bobby Ross and Ralph Friedgen eras. He spent 9 seasons in the NFL, most of them backing up Drew Bledsoe in NE.

I think Maryland has had a decent group of QB's down through the years. It has not been the wasteland some might think. I think in the last 10 years or so, the issue has been in the trenches. More times than not against good teams, Maryland has gotten whipped on the lines. When that happens the results are rarely going to be pretty.
