Any extensions won't actually impact the budget for 2024 or a little while beyond. The numbers for guys on pre-arb or arb deals over the next few seasons won't be significantly different than what the values would be on a new extension.
I do share your fear that management would lie about this fact and use any new extensions to falsely justify not actually increasing the budget with external additions.

Any extensions won't actually impact the budget for 2024 or a little while beyond. The numbers for guys on pre-arb or arb deals over the next few seasons won't be significantly different than what the values would be on a new extension.
I do share your fear that management would lie about this fact and use any new extensions to falsely justify not actually increasing the budget with external additions.
Management is going to tout this as overall budget commitment, which isn't wrong. Sure 2024 and maybe 2025 wouldn't appreciably change upwards a lot but the out years would go up a bunch.
