I like the idea of a Robinson family member throwing it, but I have a feeling it is going to be one of the local politicians.

Looking like it's gonna be the Rangers. I knew the Rays were on fumes and that's why I wanted to play them. Another terrible crowd at the Trop today. Their own fans don't even believe in them.

When I saw the Rangers play the Astros in late Sept, the Rangers BP was garbage. Watching Hyde manage this year, I was reminded of Felipe Alou during his days in Montreal. He used a rotating line up that allowed each player to get regular playing time. Hyde has a real advantage in that capacity. TX can't just count on a set line up, and then set about using the best alignment of pitchers to counter it.

Hopefully today is just a one-off in Eovaldi's return and not portending a return to some better early-season form. He threw in the neighborhood of 100 pitches, and went longer than five innings for the first time since coming back, so I'd be surprised if they put him out on short rest after that. Could rest him an extra day compared to recent starts (usually four days' rest, including for today's) and put him out on five days' rest in Game 3.

Good to see the Rays ousted quickly.  Kind of surprising considering how well they were playing last month.

I suspect the Os will use 4 lefty RPs in this series. Tex has 3 good reg lefties in Seager, Davis, and Lowe and 3 more switchies in Taveres, Heim, and Grossman. Think we see Irvin. Flaherty and Fuji both left off this round.
