One quick drive and score and you are right in it.

TT needs to throw there.

So many missed opportunities today, and way too many mistakes from Taulia.

It's a bit frustrating because it was a winnable game. You needed more from TT and the offense as a whole.

The defense’s performance is definitely promising, and you’re right that both lines played well. We’ve been waiting for Maryland to build their lines to compete with the big boys. They’ve done that.Competed, weren't overrun. Think the lines played well. Couple miscues from the Secondary, but also did a good job running with the OSU wideouts.

Get to 7-1.
Goals are still Top 25 finish, 9+ wins, 3rd straight bowl win.

Yeah, competed for a half. Shot themselves in the foot just as much.

Pretty low bar to say they competed when they didnt even cover a 19 point spread. But that’s Maryland football mentality.
Yeah, competed for a half. Shot themselves in the foot just as much.
It's a normal national power at home, currently 4th in the country. MD didn't get destroyed on the lines like they have previously, in fact showed well. Didn't get out athleted.
Didn't help themselves. Made several miscues.
Left opportunities on the field and they should feel 'bad' in the sense it was a winnable game.
Not covering pretty irrelevant to me.
The passing attack again not being able to do much against a quality opponent is a bit disappointing. It's a little easier to take since the oline was getting pushback with the ground game.
There has been year to year incremental growth as a program. That's what I'm looking for.

Taulia been starting for 3 years and still can't get over that big game hurdle. Chokes every time.

Taulia is no doubt a Top 5 QB in school history, but he just makes too many unforced errors for this team to ever reach its ceiling.

It's unfortunate because he's made strides in so many other areas. His deep ball accuracy being the best one, it's been clear this season how much work he's put in there. And while I don't think he unravels mentally after mistakes quite as badly as he's done in the past, he absolutely forces things too much in big games for a player with so much game experience.
He'll have two more opportunities to prove us wrong this year, both coming at home. If he can knock off Michigan and/or Penn State, it'll take a lot of the sting out of this loss. For now though, very frustrating.

He aint special so hes not gonna get them over the top against these top tier teams but if they get to 9 or 10 wins as Stoner thinks above thats the ceiling for this program under Locksley.
The next two games are huge.
Illinois at home is a game you have to have.
No excuses.
At NW is also a game you need after the bye... They beat Minnesota in a good game a few weeks ago, were competitive for about 2.5 quarters vs. Penn State... and won a closer game then it should have been today vs. Howard.
MD should win that game, but I won't be surprised if it's a bit closer than people might expect.
You win those games... you are 7-1, 4-1, with the remaining games being:
Penn State
@ Nebraska
Michigan
@Rutgers
ESPN has MD with a 22% chance vs. Penn State, and a 28% chance vs. Michigan.
85% vs. Illinois
79% vs. NW
73% vs. Nebraska
64% vs. Rutgers
Just win the games you are favored, and you finish 9-3, 6-3... probably ranked around 20th going into the bowl.
As far as that being the ceiling under Locksley, who knows? Maybe? Maybe not?
MD loses a lot of experience after this season, so next will be interesting.
You can't step-back.
He needs to kill it in the portal, and close on a high with the incoming class.
2024 schedule:
Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern, Rutgers and USC will all come to College Park. Maryland will play on the road against Indiana, Minnesota, Oregon and Penn State. The Terps host UConn and Villanova and travel to Virginia in the nonconference next year.
Somewhere between 7-9 wins sounds right there.
