'83 and '97 teams both won 98. Thats up next for this team. 2 more wins and we've had the best Os season in 43 years. And again, that was a team that missed the playoffs. Damn Yankees. 2nd best team in baseball in '80. KC won 97. Houston 93. Philly 91. SMDH

Right now we've tied the 1964, 1966, 1973 and 1977 teams with 97 wins. That '73 team won the AL East but lost the playoff to Oakland in five games. They also had a 14-game winning streak, which I believe is still an Oriole record.

 

And of course, we all know what happened in 1966. The 1964 team, which had Brooks win the AL MVP, finished third behind the Yankees and White Sox.

I think this is right, and maybe 10 days off freshens Kremer up enough that he can be the guy who comes into a playoff game after a short start .  That has real value.

Gibson at 187 IP after today. Will fall just short of 200 IP. Anyone have a guess on the last Os SP to throw 200 IP? Im going to look it up. Tillman never got to 200 did he? Maybe Guthrie?? Its not all the way back to Moose is it?
