Off a change or a slider. The two homers off Flaherty have traveled a total of 866 ft.
When you leave in the middle of the plate belt high, that's what usually happens. Poor command.

It's sorta unreal that they don't have somebody ready to take Flaherty out now. He's been getting tattooed all damn game.

Go take him out now.
Good grief, Jack.

What is the explanation for the runner going to second not being out for leaving the base path?

Finally.

It's a judgement call because the runner's allowed to veer three feet in either direction. It's freakin stupid because he veered probably six feet to avoid the tag. He was out of the base path. Met the definition, met the eye test, but no, you can't challenge it cuz reasonz.

Flaherty can't really keep us in the game unless our offense is lighting it up. Horrible.

If he doesn't veer 6 ft its probably a DP because he gets tagged and Gunnar has more time to get the ball to first. I know its a judgment call but dammit that wasn't even close and Hyde should barked loud and long until he got tossed. That was utter BS.

I dont think I have EVER seen a runner get onto the infield grass and not get called out of the basepath. EVER.

Agreed on both counts (and hell yes Hyde should've got himself tossed).
The only times you see a runner allowed to run in the infield grass like that is if they're avoiding the fielder's right of way to field the ball. But that's it. Dude should've been ruled out. Hell, once he did that, Gunnar would've been free to ignore him and just got the throw off to first base more quickly.
