Someone seems to have a disdain for Colton Cowser.

 

Me?  Disdain? Hardly.

 

It's September and a playoff chase.  He sported an OPS+ of 27 and didn't look good at anything. 

If he's going to play, he needs to produce.

If he's not going to play, I have no idea what importance he serves.  Burning his rookie status has other consequences.

McKenna has been better both offensively and defensively. I get the Cowser, long term, has the higher upside. But right now I much prefer McKenna.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

McKenna has provided speed and defense off the bench. Something Cowser didn't do in his first go around. Cowser was so underwhelming in CF that Mateo played the position over him. Like Bob Phelan mentioned, I think his time in the bigs will be short. Hicks most likely isn't ready yet. I doubt Cowser burns up his rookie status, but I guess stranger things have happened. Here's hoping Cowser uses his second trial to show he belongs in the majors.
