Gibson will make a start in the postseason. Book it. Hyde isn't Buck but he gives his veterans plenty of opportunities, which is why he left Gibson in after the third inning yesterday.

I think you may be right, but I also think that is not  entirely a Hyde decision but an organizational one.

I think the first 3 will be, Bradish, GRod and Kremer.  The 4th will come from Flaherty, Gibson or John Means.  Flaherty's play off exp, may be what gets him the start.

Other than his last start against the Blue Jays(where he was good), Gibson has not been sharp since they went to the 6 man rotation. I wonder if he is a pitcher who needs to stay on schedule.

And the one against Toronto was the one moved up a day after Flaherty was skipped.

Correct.

I think he was on one extra day for that one.

Could be a factor, but he’s also had plenty of warts this season before they did this.

Gibson is one of those guys who will look decent once every 4 starts or so.  In between, he's an average pitcher with average stuff who will get hit hard if he doesn't have pinpoint location and command.  The Orioles can do better than him and I'll be disappointed if he's still on the staff come 2024.  I'm not looking this deep into it but I would venture to say the offense has hit well and scored a lot of runs when he's pitched which would explain his win total.

He is making 10 M this year.  The only way he is even considered would be if he takes a massive pay cut.  About 8.5 M pay cut.  The Orioles will move on.

10 million for Gibson is a joke to me. Like you said, time to move on.

10 million is about the going rate for an average, run of the mill SP. Lyles got 6 million last year with less of a track record and les upside than Gibson. He's getting 8.5 million from KC this year.

10 million is really nothing to these teams.

Yeah, but not this team. Especially not if it's more than a 1-year commitment.

I'm just surprised they didn't try and defer payment of the $10 million over the next 15 years.
