Scholtens has been in the pen most of the year.  He is right handed so our left handed power should do some damage.

 

The same as yesterday, work him, get his pitch count up and get into the pen.

Yet in spite of the evidence, here's our illustrious manager, "I want (Adam) Frazier in there against the righty,” Hyde said. “It has nothing to do with Jordan. (Ramón) Urías is playing great defense and trying to get him going a little bit offensively. Can’t play everybody.”

I'm sure he's good in the clubhouse and the guys like him but Hyde is simply awful at matchups and strategy.

Seems like as data driven as this team is becoming that they would have at least put Westburg out there over Frazier. Just kind of baffling.

I buy that. But why would the FO be clamoring for Frazier over Westburg?

1. Frazier is making more money but its sunk cost. He's gone after this year.

2. Westburg might be a part of this team for a nice run for several years. Might but Frazier sure isn't.

3. The analytics strongly suggest Westburg should be playing tonight.

4. Westburg is probably a better defender.

Running a clubhouse doesn’t come down to black and white lineup decisions. Relationships, moods, how they’re looking in the cage, etc. A lot goes into it we don’t get to see. Especially with this regime. So yeah, me personally - I’m done questioning it. Everything they do is with intention, and I’m sitting on my couch. The hell do I know. But not telling you to do the same. Love me some Westburg so I kinda felt the same way to be fair.
