Very disappointed.  We went for the bobblehead as well.  Left early but due to traffic didn't get there until around 5:30.  Came in the gate from the Ravens stadium and they had just run out.  Was disappointed but oh well, that's on me for not getting there earlier.

 

Then made our way across Eutaw Street and at the other gate there were boxes and boxes still being handed out.  Asked if we could get some but of course, no dice.  I get the policy but we're not collectors looking to sell them on eBay.  My kids had literally been looking forward to this for months.  I couldn't care less about one for myself but very disappointing for them.  

 

I know they can't perfectly synchronize when they'll run out but not right that they were still being handed out 15 minutes after we arrived.

 

I feel like this is a fail on the promotions team.  

 

I'm ok with any policy, but it seems strange for some not to get them at one gate while another gate is still handing them out.  

 

1) If you are only going to have so many of a promotion at any gate, let people know at the gate - before they enter - when they've run out and if any other gates are still handing them out.  At least you can choose from the outside whether to walk and try.

 

2) You don't have to distribute all of them out at the same time to all the gates.  Leave yourself a stock and cross level to gates that have higher throughput.  There's probably a historical answer, but I think promotions like this (people showing up early) can skew it.

 

Either way, have a better plan than some people not getting theirs in side the Stadium while others still are.

Don't they have a freaking golf cart that they can run extras to a gate that has run out??? Sheesh this isn't rocket science.

My son took his boys early around 5:45 PM and got one.  I got there right about 6 PM with my other son and were told they were gone.  I too, walked to the Eutaw Street exit, and was told they could only give them to people who came in from that gate.  I understand that, but this has become the norm on all Oriole giveways.  

I almost feel like they should not have them, if they do not have enough for everyone.  It is almost like getting invited to dinner, and then being told no food for you.

There was a silver lining.  My son had one bobblehead and 2 boys that wanted one.  A nice lady heard my son telling a 7-year-old and and 4-year-old, they would have to share.   She gave him hers.  Thank You nice lady.

My real issue is those people who get there when the gates open and immediately leave.  Stay and watch part of the game.

Pedro pro tip:

On big give away days enter at home plate. They always have a ton of stuff and, because the rich folks in the suits enter there, they rarely run out. But anyone can enter there.
