Did he get a raw deal? 12.2 innings with 15 earned runs given up in his 3 starts before being sent down. 17 hits, 8 walks, and 2 dingers.Irvin got a raw deal getting bounced from the rotation so early. Hopefully he finishes strong and earns a spot next year.
He's definitely been solid since then, though.

We just saw a small sample as to why Irvin got bounced from the rotation. A gopher ball to a .220 hitter with just two homers (now three).

Considering how horrendous those innings were and that he was more of a fringe guy to start, it was justifiable.

Why did Hyde pull Irvin after a 5 pitch inning? And of course Fuji gives up the lead. Such a mistake Hyde.
