Looked like Westburg missed the tag.

But, nice to see something positive out of Cowser.

He didn’t. Westburg’s tag was on the base runner’s finger tips.

I thought so, too.

Camden Yards full of fans is just such an amazingly gorgeous setting.

Hyde doing the right thing here sitting Bautista back down now with the 4-run lead. I get the temptation of wanting to showcase him anyway in front of the sold out celebratory crowd, but we need to do whatever we can to keep him fresh.

Mets tv Network seems to have lost contact with Camden Yards .

Great job by Cowser. Nice throw to 3B from deep LF, too.

It does show, however, that teams are going to take their liberties on Cowser because they know he doesn't have (or hasn't shown) a very strong arm from the outfield. Kind of reminds me of Trey. At some point a few years ago, it was pointed out that he was leading all AL outfielders in assists at some point. Yeah, because everybody ran on him. I bet Ichiro never led the league in assists because everyone was terrified of that arm.

Good post.

While it obviously wasn't a high percentage play, I'm not surprised that they ran on him. Especially after last night.

Is Daniel Vogelbach a sumo wrestler in the offseason?

That dude gets bigger every year.

Probably sat in the picnic section between ABs tonight.

No sense in using him with a four run lead.

OK, fitting ending to a celebratory night. Also fitting that the last out was made by a guy named Baty.

One of the enjoyable things (and somewhat surprising) about getting to see the Orioles in TV (Tho it being on Mets Network) is that these last two telecasts Mets announcers spent 2/3rds of the time saying how impressed they are with this 2023 O's team .

Well, what are they going to say about the Mets at this point?

Three games up on the Rays.

As it is, had the Mets not sold off their pitching staff, we probably would have drawn Verlander at some point in this series, so instead we missed him. He pitched today against the Yankees so we'll likely miss him again when Houston comes in next week.
