Hays’ momentum was carrying him to RF. His throw would’ve been worse.

His mistake was not backing up 10-15 feet to get a head start on the throw. 

 

Of course, had he done that, Hays would’ve probably intercepted the catch. Dude was way out of his zone and into Cowser’s.

I know it's a small sample size, but I haven't been very impressed. He hasn't displayed any impressive tool. Surprising for a guy picked fifth overall in the draft.

That throw from Cowser was flat awful. Yes he should have been behind the ball to get a running start. But even with the way he played the ball I expect a decent CFer to be able to make a play at the plate there. Ball was not deep but man that was a noodle arm.

Agree and this is why I don't get too hung up with keeping guys that are down on the farm. Sure you hope they pan out. Some do and some don't. But I have no problem moving them for the right proven pieces.

 

I get its early in his career but I too just dont see "it" with Cowser. Hopefully he comes around soon. Now granted I never watched a single game he played in the minors. So there's that.
