Baumeister looks like he should be able to start, with three pitches and a good enough delivery to get there, but his one year in the FSU rotation hasn’t been a success, in large part because of below-average command and control. Baumeister sits 92-95 with excellent ride up in the zone along with a mid-70s curveball that’s solid-average with 12/6 break. His changeup lags a little behind as it’s too firm in the mid to upper 80s without much action, although he hasn’t had a big platoon split this year. He walked a few too many guys and gave up too much hard contact for someone with this stuff.
