If he's traded its an offseason type move. Of the major leaguers who I think could go before the deadline I think its Urias with an outside shot of Mateo.
Agreed/ Subtracting Santander from an average lineup, really weakens it, IMO.

Only the last place Sox gained ground on Baltimore this week and they did that by sweeping the Yankees who lost a game to Baltimore. Tor and TB also went 1-2 over the weekend.

Only the last place Sox gained ground on Baltimore this week and they did that by sweeping the Yankees who lost a game to Baltimore. Tor and TB also went 1-2 over the weekend.
Would have liked to have won this series but the Cubs are red hot. Is what it is. Two more off days this week — get the pen even more rest

Love seeing a lot of off days this month. Came at a great time for the Os.

Depends what we get back. And if we replace Santander with Cowser does the lineup really weaken that much? If Cowser is called up, and Mullins comes off the IL, where does Tony play?

Santander can get plenty of ABs between OF/1B/DH even with Cowser on the roster. Adley will likely need more full days off as the season grinds on.

The question isn't or shouldn't be does the lineup weaken if you replace Santander with Cowser. The real question is it improved and I think the answer is not much if at all. Santander isn't who needs replacing in the lineup, and as already mentioned there is room for Cowser and Santander in the lineup. The wholes are guys like Mateo, McCann (or his current replacement), Lester, and McKenna. This roster doesn't need to have one productive player changed for another productive player even if the newer player is more productive. It needs the non productive players gone.
