Terrible execution that inning. Gifted a lead off double then a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs and can't get him in.

Baumann walks first two of the 6th and in comes Perez. Baumann command issues not good. 36.1 IP and 18 BB.

Irvin should be the long man, whenever they bring back GRod or trade for another pitcher. Either put Perez on the, cough cough, IL or drop him. Whichever, but he can’t remain in the BP! It’s time to make a move with him.

Just total trash pitching today. The 5 pitchers who pitched today all are ideally replaced with better. If you wanted to keep Baumann and Akin as the long man 7th and 8th arms thats fine but they are not good. Certainly shouldnt be in med-high lev spots like Baumann has found himself often. Irvin is just trash that Hyde doesnt and shouldnt trust. It was completely understandable why he yanked him in his last start when he was finding results against a horrible KC team and was only at only 70 some pitches. Perez and Garrett. No more needs to be said. Fix the damn BP and then find another SP. Pitching pitching pitching at the deadline.

Well, the O's can breathe a sigh of relief that the Yankees will likely not gain any ground tonight. Their SP and BP have also crapped the bed (down 10-1 through 3 innings).
